Throwing together a (very) rough demo to send to a drummer who’ll be supplying some remote session work on a track I’m creating. The only “real” drum I have right now is a cymbal, and the only stylistic criterion I had was to be able to hit varying surfaces so that the identities of different drums would be distinct, to give a sense of fills and whatnot. So I settled on a stool for a snare, and a folding chair and a cardboard box for toms. I don’t think you can see the additional cardboard box I was tapping with my foot to simulate a kick drum. But believe me, you’ll be fine.
