SPARKHOUSE STINGER: ORIGINAL MUSIC AND SOUND DESIGN
Above:SFX edit and custom musical elements on a branding piece for the educational publishing company Sparkhouse.
Originally the opening segment depicting the house shape's assembly was much bigger and thumpier, as in the construction of an actual house. Eventually the creative direction became that the convergence of forms resulted in a smaller object, portraying the company's own creative work as opposed to the creation of the company itself. Hence the more intimate clickety-clack as the pieces notch into place.
For a while we had a variety of fire-oriented sound effect options in use, but all were discarded in favor of articulating the flame musically. I think this was a wise decision; music underscores the imagery in a much more imaginative way.
ENKE FILMS LOGO ANIMATION
Above: Some musical sound design I created for a logo animation promoting Enke Films. The visual forms derive from notions of light and lenses to evoke the process of filmmaking. I responded with some crystalline, delicate lines underscored by a low orchestral drone to add drama.

BIM BAM BRANDING BUMPER
Above: musical arrangement for a San Francisco-based Jewish educational resource provider. As part of a re-branding initiative, the company created a branding bumper to preface videos and marketing content. Mindwasp Branding Bumper: Music and Sound Design
Above: Custom music and sound for the Mindwasp media collective. I found a connection between the sharpness of a wasp sting and the crackling of the electric visuals, contrasting that sharpness with some sweet melodic movement in the background.

Above: Sonic whimsy for an animated logo promoting the Linnycakes cupcake blog. The project went through numerous drafts encompassing a variety of sound effects and musical elements, eventually whittled down to the elemental presentation heard here.
