“FIELD & STREAM”: FIELD RECORDING INSTALLATION
If you find yourself in Rhineland, WI any time between now and January 15th, you can hear some of my field recordings at “Field and Stream”, a show dedicated to landscape work at a gallery called Art Start. The gallery describes the show as “an informal survey of the diverse practices and perspectives of artists working with the concept of landscape in the mediums of painting, drawing, photography, field recording, dance, and video.”
I selected recordings-- some never before heard by anyone but me-- made in such locations as a co-op parking lot, a light rail stop that’d been taken over by skateboarders, a monument in Lucknow, India, and one of my favorite scenarios-- the back yards of assorted residences throughout Minneapolis. Thanks to curator Jaron Childs for the opportunity to contribute! Check out artstartrhinelander.org for more info.
